Prevention and Control Guidelines for Home Quarantine
1. Living Space Arrangement
1.1 People with suspicious symptoms need to live in well-ventilated single rooms and refuse all visits.
1.2 Family members should live in different rooms. Stay at least one meter away and sleep in separate beds if conditions do not permit. People with suspicious symptoms should avoid activities, limit living space, and ensure the shared space(such as kitchens and bathrooms)is well ventilated(keeping windows open).
2. Caregiver Arrangements
It is best to have a regular family member who is healthy and free of chronic diseases to take care of patients.
3. Spreading Prevention
Family members live with people who have suspicious symptoms should wear medical surgical masks that closely fit the face. Keep hands clean at all times and avoid direct contact with body secretions, and do not share any items that may cause indirect contact infection.
4. Treatment of Contaminants
Used gloves, paper towels, masks, and other wastes should be placed in a special garbage bag in patient’s room and marked as contaminants before discarded.
5. People with any of the following symptoms should immediately stop home quarantine and seek medical treatment in time.
5.1 Breathing difficulties(including increasing chest tightness,suffocation and breathless after activities).
5.2 Disorders of consciousness(including lethargy, nonsense, inability to distinguish between day and night).
5.3 Diarrhea.
5.4 Fever with a body temperature higher than 39 °C.
5.5 Other family members develop suspected symptoms of 2019-nCoV infection.
