This recipe demonstrates a simple way to interact with touchpads. However, when it comes to capacitive touch sensors, the devil is in the detail. Depending on how conductive the material you attach to the touchpad is, you might find yourself in one of two extremes; that is, the sensors might not detect some touch events at all, or if there is a lot of ambient noise, which is being falsely detected as multiple touch events.

These devices aren't as simple as a mechanical push button. On the flip side, however, they will let you create projects where you can interact with your embedded device using bananas and oranges (as they are electrically conductive).
