Distributed dispersed
In a distributed dispersed volume, data is distributed across volumes of a dispersed type. Redundancy is provided at the dispersed volume level, having similar advantages to a distributed replicated volume.
Imagine a JBOD on top of two RAID 5 arrays—growing this type of volume requires an additional dispersed volume. While not necessarily the same size, ideally, it should maintain the same characteristics to avoid complications.
