Throughput
Throughput is a function of a given amount of data over a certain amount of time that is typically described in megabytes per second (MBps). This means that every second X amount of data is being sent or received from a storage system.
Depending on the workload, the highest throughput might not be possible as the application is unable to perform I/O big enough or fast enough. There is no hard number to recommend here. Try going for the highest possible throughput, and make sure that the storage cluster can sustain the transfer rates necessary for the desired level of concurrency.
