THE EVERLASTING POT

I bought a good pot

one that can last a whole life

made of clay, with a pinewood lid

As long as the sky does not collapse

I can use it all the time

to cook soup, stew meat

But more often I’d rather

it just lay idle there

like me, empty

yet unfathomable
